Health questions
About 10 minutes
Your practitioner asks about your skin, your health, any medicines you take and any allergies. Whether a PRP facial is suitable today is decided with you. If it is not, it is not done.
-
Blood sample
A small sample of blood is taken from your arm, in the same way as a routine blood test.
-
Preparing the plasma
The tubes are spun in a centrifuge, a machine that separates the yellow plasma from the red blood cells. This takes place in the clinic while you wait.
-
Treating your face
Your face is cleansed and the plasma is applied to the skin. Your practitioner explains each step and checks how you are as it goes.
-
Aftercare and home
1 hour in total
Before you leave, your practitioner tells you how to look after your skin over the next few days, including when you can wear make-up again.
What to expect
- You know what was done to your skin and why, because each step was explained as it happened.
- Your own plasma was prepared in front of you, from a sample taken at the same appointment.
- You leave with aftercare advice for the next few days, in plain words.
- You paid the price in the online diary, £125, with nothing added on the day.

What happens in a PRP facial
A PRP facial uses plasma from your own blood. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. You may also see it called plasma skin rejuvenation, which is how it appears in the online diary. Everything happens in one appointment of about an hour.
A small blood sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the yellow plasma, which is then applied to the skin of your face.
This page does not claim what a PRP facial will do for your skin, and the team will not either. Your practitioner explains what is involved, and whether it suits you is decided with you. It is £125, with its own book button under prices and booking below. The PRP facial cost page shows what that price includes.
Who carries out your PRP facial
Revitalise Clinic is owned and run by Adil Mahmood, a pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC 2076427). PRP facials are given by the clinic team. Mohammad Subhan Anwar Khan, a pharmacist independent prescriber (GPhC 2078837) and co-director, has clinical oversight. Sophia Shah, who has 16 years’ experience in healthcare, gives treatments under Subhan’s oversight. You can check both pharmacists on the GPhC register.

What is a PRP facial?
A PRP facial is a skin treatment that uses plasma from your own blood. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. A small blood sample is taken from your arm and spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which is then applied to the skin of your face in the same appointment.
How much does a PRP facial cost?
A PRP facial at the clinic costs £125. That covers the health questions, the blood sample, preparing the plasma and the treatment itself, in a one hour appointment. The price is the one shown in the online diary.
What are the negatives of a PRP facial?
A PRP facial needs a blood sample, so it is not for anyone who cannot have blood taken, and the arm can bruise. Your face can look red or feel tender for a while afterwards. Results differ from person to person and nobody can promise them. Side effects and who should not have it are covered before you start.
How much downtime is there after a PRP facial?
Downtime after a PRP facial depends on your skin. Your practitioner tells you what to expect at your appointment, including how long any redness usually lasts and when you can wear make-up again. If you have an event coming up, mention it when you book so the timing can be planned around it.
How do I prepare for a PRP facial?
To prepare for a PRP facial, come with clean skin and no make-up if you can, and tell your practitioner about any medicines you take, any skin conditions and any recent treatments on your face. Any specific advice before your appointment is given when you book.
