What people ask us first
- My GP or a blood test says my iron is low. Can I book a private appointment?
- Do I need to bring my blood results, and how recent do they need to be?
- Who decides whether I can have an infusion, and who gives it?
- How long will I be at the clinic, and can I drive home afterwards?
- What does it cost, and is the consultation extra?
What happens at your appointment
-
Book a free consultation and gather your blood results
2 minutes online
Book the free consultation in the online diary, in person or by video. Have your most recent blood results to hand, from your GP or a private test, because they are part of the decision about whether an infusion suits you.
-
Consultation
You are asked about your health, any medicines you take, any allergies and any past reactions. Your blood results are reviewed. Subhan, the clinic's pharmacist independent prescriber, decides whether an iron infusion is suitable for you, and which dose. If it is not suitable, no infusion is given.
-
The line goes in
You settle into a chair. The skin on your arm is cleaned and a thin, soft tube called a cannula is placed in a vein and taped down.
-
The infusion
The infusion runs slowly through the line. You stay seated and are checked on throughout. You can read, use your phone or rest.
-
Line out and aftercare
1 hour in total
When the infusion has finished, the cannula comes out, pressure is put on the spot and a small dressing goes on. You are given aftercare advice before you leave.
What to expect
- Your blood results and health questions were looked at before anything else happened.
- You know who decided the infusion was suitable for you, and on what basis.
- You were seated for the appointment and could ask questions at any point.
- You leave with aftercare advice and know who to call if anything worries you afterwards.

Why every appointment starts with a consultation
Iron for infusion is a prescription-only medicine in the UK. That means an infusion can only be given if a registered prescriber decides it is suitable for you. The clinic sells the appointment, not the medicine: the consultation, the time, and a named, registered clinician looking after you. This page does not claim what an infusion will do for you, and nobody at the clinic will either.
The consultation is free, in person or by video. It is where your blood results are looked at and the decision is made, before any infusion is booked.
What to bring
- Your most recent blood results, from your GP or a private test.
- A list of any medicines and supplements you take, including iron tablets.
- Details of any allergies or past reactions to medicines or infusions.
- A top with sleeves that roll up past the elbow.
If you are not sure whether your blood results are recent enough, ask at your free consultation.
Prices
A single dose appointment is £120 and a double dose appointment is £200, as listed in the online diary. Which one is suitable, if either, is decided at the free consultation. Most treatments take a £25 deposit when you book, and if you cancel or move with at least 24 hours’ notice you get a full refund. Each option has its own book button under prices and booking below, and the iron infusion cost page sets out both prices and what they include.
Who you will see
Revitalise Clinic is owned and run by Adil Mahmood, a pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC 2076427). Iron infusions are prescribed by Mohammad Subhan Anwar Khan, a pharmacist independent prescriber (GPhC 2078837) and co-director. A trained member of the clinic team gives the infusion under Subhan’s clinical oversight. You can check both pharmacists on the GPhC register.
Who should not have an iron infusion, any side effects and any downtime are covered at your consultation before anything is given. Treatments are for adults 18 and over.
Other treatments at the clinic
The clinic also runs IV drips with vitamins, booked as one hour, and vitamin injections that take about 15 minutes. See the full list of treatments, or go to the booking page for every treatment.
